Every Space Design

I love this shelf/vase from Every Space Design. Sean and I have actually been working on a similar piece (which I will post here as soon as it is finished), so I was excited to come across these guys. Also lovely is "Slice", which serves as a serving board, table, centerpiece...Simple and organic.

Habitat Skateboards - Bamboo Construction

I have been riding Habitat decks for a few years now. I like that they are an east coast company. And their graphics have always been very nice. They have recently taken more inspiration from actual images of flora and fauna as opposed to iconic representations of those flora and fauna. And the Danny Garcia shapes flip around really well for me.

They recently released a Bamboo Panorama Series which uses 15% bamboo (1-ply of 7) in addition to the traditional hardrock maple construction. Bamboo is a very sustainable resource because of its rapid growth cycle. They also offer a hemp-ply construction which uses a hemp fiber layer to reinforce the maple construction.

Akemi Tanaka

I'm always excited by furniture that has multiple purposes...Akemi Tanaka has several furniture pieces that go from being coffee tables to seating. They are beautiful and they are sustainable - each piece is hand-made from renewable bamboo plywood and finished with an non-VOC danish oil.

Modern Bamboo

Beautiful bamboo chairs from Modern Bamboo. I like the simple lines and the texture of the grain.

Modernlink

I came across Modernlink today via a Treehugger post. Modernlink make beautiful, multi-functional furniture primarily from bamboo. I feel like I am going overboard by posting so many of their pieces, but I am a sucker for their smart remakes of every day household furniture.

I love that the drawer is seamless so that it masquerades as a floating cube to lean and pile magazines and other pieces of junk on.

My favorite part of this desk is its integrated filing tray. Sadly, none of these are at all affordable, so I won't be owning any in the near future.
